A New View

A world without war, there would be peace.
Silence burning,
Thoughts turning,
Seeking consensus without police,
A new view.

A world without war, life would be sweet.
A look backward,
A look forward
Toward a vision of hope replete,
A new view.

My face turned from war, napalm burning
Everything,
Offering
Death in its path, my path still yearning,
A new view.

Still driven by war, fire on earth,
Beheading,
Back lashing,
Horror unspoken, aborting birth,
A new view

Is in order, in order to live
Together,
To gather
For once, forever, hopefully give
A new view.

Possibilities for tomorrow,
Memories,
Fantasies,
Dreams of ideas we can borrow,
A new view.

Not an optimist on the world stage,
Distrusting,
Festering
Images of bodies on a page,
A new view.

Images of bodies on the ground,
Dead, rotting,
Cries weeping,
Family, friends, there is no other sound.
A new view.
