River wide and deep
Flaking earth from canyon wall.
Journey to the sea.

In murky water
Stone colliding against stone,
Sculpting in the deep.

At ocean's door
On river's delta mouth,
Grainy secrets.

Beach is coarse,
Pebbles everywhere.
Waves pounding.

Stone grains
Thrashed by surf.
Churned froth.

Sand,
Bare feet,
Soft.
