TAE Gallery: artwork, photography, poetry, songs, and book arts

Religion Varies

There was once a day, not carbon dated,
In history past, when God was invented.
So many gods had ruled our lives before
The One was posited. We may evolve
Forever our visions of who He is,

Who cannot be known, only felt within
Our poetic hearts and poetic souls.
We, as images, look for our Maker
In wonder and a pondering belief
In other than nothingness, emptiness.

Some religions center on God, others
Not. There are many beliefs. He exists
In some and not in others' view of life
And death and afterlife. And afterdeath?
We wander in our days on planet Earth,

Seeking whatever we find, grains of sand
Filling the breezy wind, blinding the eye
In protective tears, belief we can trust.
Fear of other faiths—their realities—
Test the depth of religiosity.
